How do I double-space my paper?

Answer

To double-space your paper, follow these steps based on the software you're using:

Microsoft Word (Windows and Mac):

  1. Select the text you want to double-space (or press Ctrl + A (Windows) or Cmd + A (Mac) to select all text).
  2. Go to the Home tab.
  3. In the Paragraph group, click the Line and Paragraph Spacing button (it looks like lines with an arrow pointing up and down).
  4. Choose 2.0 from the dropdown.

Alternatively:

  • Right-click your text and select Paragraph.
  • In the Paragraph dialog box, go to the Spacing section.
  • Under Line Spacing, choose Double and click OK.

Google Docs:

  1. Select the text you want to double-space (or press Ctrl + A or Cmd + A to select all).
  2. Click on the Format menu at the top.
  3. Go to Line & paragraph spacing > Double.

Mac Pages:

  1. Highlight the text.
  2. In the Format sidebar, go to the Style tab.
  3. Under Spacing, set the Line Spacing to 2.0.
